About Maya Bakery & Bar: Maya is Hong Kong's first plant-based bakery and bar by health- and eco-conscious mompreneur, Shirley Kwok of The Cakery. At Maya, there are vegan versions of local favourites in egg tarts and pineapple buns, and other indulgent treats, bowls and beverages. Named after its brand mascot, and Maya, Shirley's 11-year-old daughter (who helped conceptualise the business’s logo featuring the bird species also called Maya), Maya Bakery & Bar embraces the spirit of “curiosity and adventure,” drawing inspiration from diverse cultures worldwide and celebrating mindful living, and sustainable lifestyle choices.
About Christine: Christine Wong is a plant-based cook and advocate for environmental sustainability. Her Instagram community at @conscious_cooking has followed her vegan, plastic-free, cultural journey for more than six years. She hosts workshops that celebrate the joy of preparing dishes with a focus on fresh ingredients and mindfulness toward sustainable buying choices. She lives in Brooklyn, NY.
